Big news, ASF community — we’re turning a new leaf!
As you may have heard, The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) has a new logo — a bold oak leaf that represents our community’s deep roots, resilience, and growth. To celebrate, we’re launching #ASFNewLeaf, a fun social media giveaway. We’re hoping this campaign serves as an opportunity to unite the entire ASF community to share stories, memories, and creative expressions that showcase what makes The ASF ecosystem so special.
From committers and project contributors to sponsors and open source enthusiasts, everyone is invited to join in the fun and help celebrate this next chapter in The ASF’s journey.
What Is #ASFNewLeaf?
Each week, The ASF will post a social media prompt inviting the community to share stories, milestones, or creative posts that reflect your connection to The ASF. Examples include:
- Have a favorite ASF project milestone?
- A photo from your first Community Over Code (ApacheCon)?
- A memory from your early days as a committer or contributor?
Every week, we will randomly select one participant to win limited-edition ASF swag— featuring exclusive t-shirts and stickers.
Through your posts, we hope to highlight the diversity, creativity, and strength of the ASF community while building excitement for what’s ahead.
How to Participate
- Follow The ASF on social: X, LinkedIn, Bluesky and YouTube
- Watch for the weekly #ASFNewLeaf prompt — each will feature a new question or theme.
- Share your response using the hashtags #ASFNewLeaf and #CommunityOverCode.
- Each tagged post enters you into that week’s random drawing for ASF swag.
