Community Over Code Glasgow 2026: Inside the Schedule

The schedule for Community Over Code Glasgow 2026 is live, with an expansive program: 168 sessions across 18 tracks, spanning four days in October.

Whether you’re running infrastructure at hyperscale, modernizing a fintech stack, or trying to figure out what responsible AI governance actually looks like in practice, there’s a track for you.

18 tracks. Real practitioners. Real deployments.

The 2026 program covers AI Plumbers, ASF Infrastructure, Cassandra, CloudStack, Community, Data Infra and Engineering, Fintech and Fineract, Governance and Policy, Groovy, Incubator, Industrial IoT, NuttX RTOS, On-demand, Performance / Scalability / Observability, Search, Streaming, Sustainability and Green Software, and Tomcat/Httpd.

A few highlights across the tracks:

AI Plumbers. This track cuts through the hype to focus on the unglamorous work that makes AI systems actually run. OpenAI engineers will share how they re-architected Apache Airflow to handle 70,000+ tasks in six weeks using Codex, and a session from Yahoo’s Head of Engineering digs into the AI infrastructure lessons from taking machine learning (ML) to 30 million users.

Fintech and Fineract. Apache Fineract’s adoption story is getting global. Sessions cover building an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) in Europe, deploying AI-powered financial inclusion tools with an open source fintech stack, and a hands-on workshop on progressive loan management. Speakers include operators from Kenya and across the EU.

Industrial IoT. Motorola Mobility engineers will walk through building an end-to-end IIoT platform entirely on ASF projects, and there’s a standout session on GMP-compliant data logging for regulated manufacturing.

Streaming. The streaming track reflects how much the ecosystem has matured. Airbnb will present their config-driven streaming approach — declare your pipeline, not your infrastructure. There are sessions on healing Apache Kafka Streams with Native DLQs and GenAI, Apache Flink SQL evolution, and Apache Arrow-native streaming.

Search. Bloomberg engineers are presenting on Apache Solr MCP, which allows AI agents to connect securely to Solr. There’s a live MCP demo from Adobe, and a talk on vector search performance with multiple approaches to navigating the HNSW graph. If you’re running search at scale, this track has operational depth.

Community and Governance. Dr. Dawn Foster is presenting on fixing the leadership gaps threatening open source projects, and separately on good governance for sustainable OSS. There’s a session on what happens when someone breaks the rules, and a panel exploring why user, contributor, and vendor communities all matter for project longevity.

NuttX RTOS. Sessions range from a Google Summer of Code (GSOC) student’s journey implementing the WireGuard VPN protocol on Apache NuttX RTOS for secure edge connectivity, to running NuttX on a Raspberry Pi 4B, to a rocket altimeter built on NuttX. It’s a track that rewards curiosity even if embedded systems aren’t your day job.

Sustainability and Green Software. SPRUCE is an open-source platform for GreenOps. Its framing as “the greenest token is the one that never hits a GPU” sets the tone for a track that treats energy efficiency as an engineering constraint.

Community Over Code Glasgow 2026 runs October 11–14. Registration is open at https://communityovercode.org/

Early bird conference pricing for this year’s event is US$500 until July 28, when the regular rate of US$600 will apply. If you are an ASF committer, use your @apache.org email to register for the Committer rate of US$250.
